Camp Sunshine

A Day of Hope and Healing for Kids

Saint Agnes Home Health and Hospice of California recently hosted Camp Sunshine, a special day filled with hope and joy for kids who have experienced significant changes like death, divorce, separation or abandonment. This year’s event, hosted by our dedicated hospice team, was particularly special as it marked the return of Camp Sunshine after a pause since the COVID-19 pandemic.

With 34 kids, 16 parents/guardians and 17 dedicated volunteers, the event was a great success. The day featured activities such as fitness sessions, art projects, reflection exercises and the beloved pet therapy with our Heavenly Hounds. While the kids enjoyed their activities, parents and caregivers received valuable grief support.

This event was for both community members and our colleagues and their eligible children at Saint Agnes Home Health and Hospice and Saint Agnes Medical Center. Camp Sunshine was a wonderful opportunity to bring smiles and support to many families.

We were excited to bring back Camp Sunshine and see so many happy faces! This event was offered at no cost to the children and their families.

Saint Agnes Hospice also offers other special programs to help grieving children, such as our Footsteps program.
